A Day in the Life of Miss Zoe... www.zoealexander.com

Welcome to my world! It’s taken forever to get my new website up and running. You see, it’s not all champagne parties, shopping splurges, manicures & martinis… Well, not all of the time! I work on a New York minute and even that isn’t quick enough sometimes, especially when I’m in LA! I never get to catch up with my friends and people always ask me “what’s going on”? So this blog is dedicated to all the girls like me who live a life committed to never being bored!

Sunday Bliss!

Hello Darlings,

It’s late in the evening, and I am about to retire to bed, but even so, I just dabbed on a smidge of my favorite MAC lipstick in Diva red so that I could relay today’s luxurious Sunday events in the same style it was lived!

10:00am- 1:00pm
Rise and Shine! I was treated like a princess this morning. I was roused from sleep with breakfast in bed, that my rock’n’roller-turned-writer boyfriend Frankie Poullain, whipped up while I was fast asleep and recovering from jet lag (I just got back from setting up the new Diva group in LA last night!). Frankie served me breakfast on a beautiful antique white-wash tray that we had just picked up in rural France in his new home. His simple menu was definitely Provincial inspired: fresh orange juice, café au lait with extra crème frais, blackberry jam, and a baguette with some delicious brie and camembert cheeses. Sunday mornings are made to be spent in bed, indulging with all of life little luxuries: lovely company, lovely food and love! Sigh…

I slip into my favorite Spoylt pink silk robe and don my “naughty secretary glasses”-black rimmed and very astute. I read this month’s issue of Vanity Fair from cover to cover. I can’t get enough of this ‘zine! It really is one of the only publications I absolutely inhale! Frankie played some soft strings on his guitar- a melody he had written for me when he was in his band The Darkness.

1pm- 2:30pm
In my 70’s style baby blue Adidas track suit, I head over to my favorite workout class for a chance to work from the inside out. It’s called Core Fusion and a real butt-kicker. It’s a three dizzy-spell class for me but I emerge feeling like a Zen Queen…

Definitely blessed out, I feel the need to nurture my creative spirit and head down to St. Mark’s street where vintage clothing stores are in abundance. I weed through racks of polyester dresses, Pucci inspired prints (but not Pucci!) and leather jackets (for Frankie!). Today, no treasures to take home, but I did ogle at a vintage Dior squirrel stole for a moment before the Grace Kelly look alike in front of me picked it up first! I did a double take at the stole, then at the woman. As she left the store with her stole in tow, it occurred to me that the gorgeous blond was Gwyneth Paltrow!

I get a text message from a girlfriend who is having a birthday bash this coming Thursday night at Crobar. I make a note to send her a box of Godiva chocolates, my very favorite thing to give my girls. Not many things in life come closer to tasting like heaven on earth… And chocolate always seems to be the answer!

I have a dinner meeting with an LA based producer for an upcoming reality TV show that I might be hosting. Sunday nights aren’t usually my optimal time for business meetings, but the show biz/media industry is an entirely different beast- it is your life! And besides, I love French cuisine, and we are going to Jean-George’s in the Trump tower. I dress carefully in my favorite multi-colored Marni dress and pair it with a green Balanciaga ‘shrug bag’. I mix in a great ‘steal’- Zara stacked pumps ($49.99!!) and layer on 5 Agatha gold chain and crystal necklaces. I will be, you guessed it, the style expert on the panel. I’m very intrigued and will let you know how it all works out!

10:00 pm
I draw a bubble bath and pour in some gorgeous new bath gel from L’Artisan Parfumeur- in Mûre et Musc (wild blackberries). I plug in my ipod into the speakers and hit shuffle, light 7 candles (my lucky number) and do my facial ritual with fabulous products from Dermalogica then soak, preen and pamper for an hour. These beautifying rituals are what makes me feel, and not only look my best. Beauty starts within.

I am about to wrap up the end of my blog entry and take a moment to sit still, enjoying the silence of the eve of a busy, fast paced week that’s about to start. The excitement of it inspires me and keeps my spirits high.

Nite nite,

Zoe
